Turmeric comes from turmeric plant and is a yellow powder used above all to season curry and chicken.
Since ancient times it has been considered excellent in Ayurvedic medicine as a detoxifier for the liver. Rich in antioxidants, it is considered anticancer and perfect for slowing down skin aging. It also works as an anti-inflammatory, is an anti-healing agent and lowers the level of bad cholesterol in the blood.
Ginger is a root and can be found as a root or as a commercial powder.

It is also perfect for colds. It is the only, up to now, remedy that I have personally tried that gives relief during a cold or a bad flu. In this specific case, just boil water with 3 or 4 pieces of ginger. When it comes to a boil, leave the ginger inside and add half a lemon and a teaspoon of honey.
Excellent against nausea, even during pregnancy.
Ginger is also perfect for pain joints and muscles, soothing, even with a certain rapidity, cramp problems.
Let's see a couple of recipes with which to put ginger and turmeric together in an herbal tea.
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated turmeric root
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger root
Put a glass of water in a saucepan and bring to the boil, filter the infusion and then sweeten it naturally either with a teaspoon of honey or withstevia.
Another recipe, even more detox, it includes:
- 500 ml of water
- 1 piece of ginger root
- 1 piece of turmeric root
- 3 slices of lemon
Take a jug of water, add the two pieces of root, add the lime one and leave to rest in the refrigerator for 24 hours. More refreshing and less strong in flavour, it is perfect as a summer drink.
What is ginger and turmeric herbal tea for, then? A lot of things, all very interesting. Whether it's just to purify yourself, whether it's to digest, whether it's because you have a bad cold, in all possible cases this herbal tea can do nothing but do you good. And this is certainly what we want to know when we decide to include it in our long-term diet, in our new diet, in our new life which is certainly healthier and more attentive to what is good for us.| ||186
